Registration for the ANR exam
The registration of the candidates for the ANR exam is done at the Zonal Captaincy where you wish to take the exam, by submitting the registration file to the secretariat of the commission. During the registration process, you should keep in mind the following:
- Each candidate will sign a personal declaration confirming that he/she is familiar with the provisions of the assessment methodology.
- Your application file must be complete when you register.

How the assessment tests are run
The assessment tests for the ANR examination are scheduled at the pre-determined date, time and venue and any changes will be notified by the Registrar. Here are the main rules and requirements:
- All candidates must arrive at the examination room 15 minutes before the start of the test.
- To sit the exam, dress neatly and show ID.
- Candidates must behave respectfully and must not be under the influence of alcohol.
- You are allowed to use dictionaries for foreign language exams.
- Strangers are not allowed in the exam room.
Rules during tests:
- Submission of additional materials (textbooks, notebooks, etc.) before the start of the test.
- No leaving the room, communicating between candidates or using electronic devices.
- It is not allowed to discuss topics with the assessors.
Competence assessment in an ANR exam
Competence assessment is based on the analytical programs corresponding to the certificate class. The grading system is based on a percentage of correct answers and the minimum pass mark varies by category.
Grading details::
Scores range from 0 to 10. For example, if you have 24 correct answers out of 30, you will get a mark of 8.00. Marks are recorded in the 'Marking Sheet'.
The candidate is promoted if he/she has obtained the minimum mark in each subject.
Challenging ANR exam results
You can only challenge the results in writing before leaving the assessment room. The procedure is as follows:
- The appeal must be addressed to the chair of the evaluation session.
- Re-evaluate the work and, if necessary, make the necessary changes.
- The result of the reassessment is final.
We do not accept appeals which:
- They are submitted after leaving the assessment room.
- The difference between the candidate's mark and the minimum threshold is more than 1 point.
- They are submitted by other persons on behalf of the candidate.

- Timp alocat: 30 minute
- Minimum pass mark: 22 correct answers
Differential exam Class C:
- COLREG: 10 questions
- Timp alocat: 10 minute
- Minimum pass mark: 8 correct answers
Class D - Recreational boat driver
- Navigation on the Danube: 10 questions
- Seafaring: 6 questions
- Driving and handling motorboats: 6 questions
- Prim ajutor medical: 2 întrebări
- Legislație: 2 întrebări
- Total questions: 26
- Timp alocat: 30 minute
- Minimum pass mark: 22 correct answers
Differential exam Class D:
- Navigation on the Danube: 10 questions
- Timp alocat: 10 minute
- Minimum pass mark: 8 correct answers
