After completing the course "Radio Communications (GMDSS LRC)", organized by Enjoy Sailing Academy, you will obtain a certificate of authorization for the use of radio communication channels at sea.

Enjoy Sailing organizes ANCOM authorized courses for obtaining the GMDSS-LRC radio operator certificate in Bucharest and Mangalia, with duration of 1 day.
The procedure for obtaining a GMDSS-LRC radio operator's certificate involves following and graduating from an authorized school, a practical test (on simulator) and a theoretical examination. In order to take the theoretical examination it is necessary to register individually at an examination session organized by the zonal captains. After completing this course, the theoretical and practical examinations are taken at the school, following which ANCOM issues the GMDSS-LRC operator license GMDSS-LRC Certificate (Global Maritime Distress Safety System - Long Range Certificate).
The certificate is valid for 5 years.
The GMDSS-LRC course will help you to acquire skills and knowledge that will help you in performing operations such as:
- communication of information with other vessels, regardless of size and nationality.
- transmitting and receiving messages with varying degrees of urgency.
- transmitting and receiving distress messages to other ships or coastal stations.
Upon completion of the Radio Station Operator course at the Enjoy Sailing Academy you will obtain the “Long Range Communications General Radio Operator Certificate” for recreational craft.5

The course program aims to acquire and improve the following skills:
- Application of standard operating procedures for VHF radio stations, fixed or portable.
- Selecting the optimal channel to communicate information or message in different situations.
- Application of the procedure for starting and ending a message.
- Use standard marine communication vocabulary in English.
- Launch messages with varying degrees of urgency.
- Launching a highly urgent message (May Day).
- Using the phonetic alphabet for VHF communications.
The GMDSS-LRC Radio Operator Certificate is authorized by ANRC and is obtained within the Enjoy Sailing Academy following specialized courses held by reference teachers. This certificate can be used for boat rental.

Who is the course addressed to?
According to this order issued by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, holders of international certificates of pleasure craft operator classes C and D sailing outside the inland waterways of Romania must hold a certificate of completion of the course “GMDSS - SRC - Global Maritime Distress and Safety System - Short Range Certificate”.
The international certificates of pleasure craft skipper, as well as the certificates of attestation of the courses provided for in this Regulation must be in original on board the vessel when sailing outside the national navigable waters of Romania
